Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough 8-count
  • 8 fully cooked breakfast sausage links
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Step 1: Cook the Eggs
Whisk the eggs with milk, salt, and pepper. Scramble in a nonstick skillet with butter over medium-low heat until just set. Set aside.
  • Step 2: Warm the Sausages
If using precooked sausages, heat them according to the package. If raw, cook them fully until browned.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Roll-Ups
Unroll the crescent dough into triangles. On the wide end of each triangle, add a spoonful of scrambled egg, a sprinkle of cheese, and one sausage link. Roll up toward the narrow end.
  • Step 4: Bake
Place roll-ups on a lined baking sheet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 5: Serve
Let cool slightly and serve warm, or let them cool and store for meal prep.

Notes

Derek’s Secret Tips for the Perfect Roll-Ups

  • Use cold crescent dough straight from the fridge—it’s easier to handle and rolls tighter.
  • Let the scrambled eggs stay slightly soft—they’ll finish cooking in the oven and stay fluffy inside.
  • Wrap tightly from the wide to narrow end, tucking as you go to keep all that cheesy goodness sealed in.
  • Use smoky or maple-flavored sausage for an extra hit of flavor without adding any extra ingredients.
  • Sprinkle a little cheese on top before baking for a golden, melty crust.
  • Reheat in a toaster oven for the best texture—microwaving is quick, but toasting brings the crisp back.
